Furniture Styling Beverly Hills

Luxury furniture sourcing and FF&E design for residences in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu, and Los Angeles. Furniture is not selected after the room is finished. It is designed into the room from the first schematic.

How much does furniture styling cost for a luxury home?

Furniture and furnishing budgets for luxury residential projects in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and Malibu typically range from $500,000 to $2M+ for a full-home installation, depending on square footage, custom fabrication, and art acquisition. Joelle's design fee is structured separately as a flat project fee. Furniture and materials are sourced at trade pricing and billed with a standard markup, disclosed upfront.

What is the difference between furniture styling and interior design?

Interior design encompasses the full scope of a residential project: space planning, material selection, millwork, lighting, and architectural coordination. Furniture styling is the furnishing, textile, art, and accessory layer that completes the designed space. In Joelle's practice, furniture styling is part of the full-service interior design engagement.

Does Joelle source vintage and antique pieces?

Yes. Vintage and antique sourcing is integral to the practice. Rooms that feel collected require pieces from different periods and provenances. Joelle sources from dealers, auction houses, and private collections internationally. Vintage pieces are restored and reupholstered as needed before installation.

Do you work with furniture clients already have, or do you source everything new?

Both. I assess what is worth keeping — pieces with genuine quality, scale, or provenance — and work those into the new composition. Everything else is replaced with intention. I do not stage around pieces that undermine the room.

How do you source furniture that is not available in retail showrooms?

I work with trade-only vendors, ateliers, and makers across Los Angeles, New York, and Europe. Many pieces in my projects are custom-fabricated or sourced through relationships I have built over 15+ years working with UHNW clients. Procurement access is part of what you hire me for.

What is the typical investment for a furniture styling project?

Project fees are scoped to the engagement. A focused styling project — one or two rooms, existing architecture — is structured differently than a full-house furnishing following a gut renovation. Design fees and procurement are discussed at the initial consultation. I work transparently on fee structure before any scope is confirmed.

Can I hire Joelle for furniture styling only?

Furniture styling is typically part of a larger interior design engagement. Select furnishing-only projects are considered for clients in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and Malibu who have completed construction and need full-home furnishing and styling. A consultation is the first step.

Do you work outside of Los Angeles?

Yes. I work with clients in Miami, Miami Beach, and New York, and have completed projects internationally. Travel and site visits are built into the project scope as needed.

What is FF&E design?

FF&E stands for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment. In luxury residential design, it refers to every moveable piece in the home — furniture, lighting fixtures, window treatments, rugs, art, and decorative accessories. FF&E design means specifying these elements as a cohesive whole, not as individual purchases.

What furniture brands does the practice specify?

B&B Italia, Minotti, Flexform, Cassina, Poliform for case goods; Visual Comfort, Apparatus, and Kelly Wearstler for lighting; custom millwork and upholstery from longstanding LA and European workrooms. Specification is driven by the room, not brand loyalty.
